Lab Members

Susana Mendez, DVM PhD

Susana Mendez is an Assistant Professor at the Baker Institute for Animal Health and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology of Cornell Veterinary College. She earned her DVM degree at the Veterinary School from the University Complutense in 1993 in Madrid, Spain. She received her PhD from the same University in 1997. Dr. Mendez worked as a post-doctoral fellow with Dr. David Sacks at the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases in the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. She later joined Dr. Peter Hotez’s group at the George Washington University as an Assistant Research Professor in 2003, where she worked for three years.
