Weight Watchers Diet Review

Over the past 40 years no diet is more well known than Weight Watchers, a very popular diet program that people have been doing for years and unlike many fad diets have found surprisingly good results.

Weight Watchers is probably best known for their points system, assigning point values to specific types of foods, but in 2010 Weight Watchers revamped their their old point system and adopted a program called Points Plus.

The new Points Plus program makes users focus on eating foods that are high in protein and rich in fiber. This allows users to lose weight and do it safely.

The Points Plus program also focuses on calories and stresses the need to burn off more calories than you eat. You can’t effectively lose weight if you just keep taking in calories and never burn them off down the line.

Another feature that is new to the weight watchers program is users now have the ability to eat as many fresh fruits and non-starchy vegetables as they want. These food groups are great because they are low in calories and are very filling.

The Points Plus plan wants users to eat a wide variety of foods during the day and try to stay within a individualized calorie limit so dieters don’t get bored and give up.

Another great feature of the program is users can check food calories on many devices. They can check them on a pocket guide that lists numerous popular foods. This makes it easy for users to monitor their limit to make sure they do not go over.

There is an online database that users can check with over 40,000 foods and users can also check the calories on their mobile phone. So no matter where the user is they can effectively stay on the calorie limit path.

The whole idea behind weight watchers is to give users the ability to understand what is going into their body and to alter this accordingly.

The program stresses the intake of high protein and fiber foods while at the same time limiting the calories going into the body. Another pro of the program is that it offers an exercise guidance to help lose weight quicker. It was named number one best selling commercial diets for 2011 and they have over 40 years experience in dieting.

The main downside to the program is that there isn’t a strong emphasis on fitness, although they do recommend it… it’s just not a focus. For some people this may not matter though because not everyone works out on a daily basis.
